Before you give your pet the homemade cat ice cream to try, it is best if it is already familiar with the ingredients for the ice cream and likes to eat them. If you would like to try out a few variations in the future, there are a few things you should keep in mind: Do not serve the ice cream completely frozen; make sure it has thawed slightly. Like humans, cats can suffer from ice-cream headache if they eat food that is too cold too quickly.

Also, do not forget that the ice cream for cats is nothing more than a snack. The portion you serve should therefore not be too big. Not only because this cooling treat has quite a few calories, but because too much ice cream can upset your cat’s stomach. If you have your own recipe idea for the cat ice cream, there is no reason why you shouldn’t try it out. But do not use chocolate, raw pork or sultanas in cat ice cream. These foods are poisonous for your four-legged friend.
