Dietary fiber is beneficial for healthy digestion in dogs and increases the feeling of satiety.
Dietary fibers are not vital like vitamins, for example. They provide little energy, but support the dog's digestive activity. They are usually vegetable fibers that are only partially digested in the small intestine or not digested at all. After being transported to the large intestine, they serve as food for bacteria and influence the intestinal flora. They can also bind water, increase stool volume and stimulate intestinal activity, especially in the large intestine.
Dietary fiber often has a beneficial effect on disorders of the gastrointestinal tract by counteracting either excessively dry or excessively watery stools. Fiber is found in apples, carrots and wheat bran, for example. Branded complete food, such as animonda wet or dry food, already contains a suitable amount of fiber, so that an additional supply is not necessary.
Vitamins for dogs
If you feed your dog a high-quality complete food, you do not need to provide it with additional vitamins and minerals. This is not necessary and can even have negative effects, as some vitamins and many minerals can cause damage to health if they are over-supplied.
